Whether he’s helping to improve a park or guiding a township through zoning regulations, Ryan Coffey connects communities to the partners and resources that move dreams to reality.
“My job is facilitating connections,” he said. “When the right people are in the right place, things happen.”
Ryan, the Land Use Educator at MSU Extension, a position underwritten by the Community Foundation, enjoys the cooperative attitude in Newaygo County.
“People don’t always believe me when I talk about how collaborative this community is,” he said. “But we’re all working together, not competing.”
Ryan appreciates this neighborly spirit and the boundless natural resources in Newaygo County.
“We live in a unique area,” he said. “It’s rural with abundant resources. Through the wise use of these natural resources, we can capitalize on their value while also protecting them for residents.”
