Strengthening our nonprofit sector.
Nonprofit organizations—our “community partners”—address vital needs in our community and are an important component of the local economy. But the challenges these organizations face are greater than ever before.
Historically, the Community Foundation provided significant annual fund support to local agencies. While we will continue to serve nonprofits through our grantmaking, we also want to help them become stronger.
The Community Partner Effectiveness initiative is a bold project designed to do just that. Its primary goal is to increase the health and capacity of our local nonprofits. To accomplish this, the Community Foundation partners with the Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University and the Michigan Nonprofit Association on multifaceted efforts to strengthen the nonprofit sector in Newaygo County.
Work is accomplished through activities such as:
- Strategic planning
- High-quality workshops and trainings
- Organizational consultations
- Technical assistance
