About Face Scholarship

- Students must show great improvement in academic and attitude with preference to those students who have raised their cumulative GPA of at least one point from the end of their freshman year to the end of the second trimester of their senior year

Attitude, Aptitude and Achievement
One, year non-renewable scholarship to a graduating senior from Fremont High School who has made an effort to gain the most from their experience at FHS.
- Student must be under an Individual Education Plan (IEP) and receive services of Special Education personnel
- Completed at least three of their four or five years at FHS. Student may not actually be graduating, but continuing at Neway Center
- Student has demonstrated exceptional involvement and interest in the life of FHS by participating in clubs and school activities

Donors wish to give examples of what they mean by “trade career.” The following examples are not meant to be exclusive but are intended to give guidance as to the type of career Donors view as a trade: Automotive service technician, baker, boilermaker, carpentry, cement mason, collision repair technician, cooking, cosmetologist, crane operator, electrician, formwork technician, funeral director, furniture design, geothermal heating technician, grip, heavy equipment operator, industrial instrument mechanics, locksmith, meat cutter, millwright, painter and decorator, pipefitter, rig technician, sprinkler system installer, utility arborist, welder level “C”.

- Preference to a student pursuing a career in veterinary science

One, non-renewable award to a White Cloud High School graduating senior.
- Must attend an accredited four-year college or university
- Demonstrated academic achievement
One, non-renewable scholarship to a graduating high school senior from Fremont High School.
- Applicant attending Michigan State University
- Preference to applicant who has participated in Fremont track and/or cross country and whose application meets generally accepted standards
Two, $500 scholarship awarded to a graduating senior from Fremont High School and White Cloud High School
- Preference to students in the middle one third of graduating class
- Students can be pursuing trade school, an associate degree, or a four year college degree
One non-renewable award of $500 to a Newaygo High School graduate.
- Demonstrated financial need and lack of alternate resources
Up to five, two-year renewable scholarships to graduating high school seniors who attend a Newaygo County High School.

Three, non-renewable scholarships to graduating high school seniors from Grant High School.
- Demonstrate academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 2.5 based on 4.0 scale

- Preference given to applicants who have been involved in student government and members of the Foundation’s YAC
Awarded to a graduating senior(s) from Fremont High School and/or Hesperia High School
- Applicants shall be recent graduate(s) of Fremont High School or Hesperia High School
- Applicants shall be seeking post-secondary education from a university, college, or skilled trades institution
- Preference given to applicants with a “B” or “C” grade point average
- Preference to applicants with financial need
- Scholarship is a one-time, non-renewable scholarship
One, non-renewable award to a graduating high school senior from Fremont High School attending Hope College or Calvin College.
- Demonstrate financial need
- If no current graduating high school senior is attending either of these colleges, the scholarship may be awarded to a past Fremont High School graduate who is an upperclassman at either of these colleges
Two, non-renewable awards to graduating high school seniors from Grant High School.
- 3.0 GPA or better
- Preference is given to students pursuing an agricultural career
- Preference is given to students pursuing a four-year college degree
- Preference is given to students not receiving other scholarship awards
- Participation in school and/or community activities
Two, four-year renewable awards to graduating seniors from Grant High School.
- Demonstrated academic achievement by maintaining a high school GPA of 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale and maintaining a college GPA of 2.5 based on a 4.0 scale for renewal.
- Participation in a school fine arts program such as art, drama, band or choir
- Use of fine arts skill in extra-curricular activities
- Highly motivated individual with drive to succeed
- An ability to relate well to others
- A constructive attitude

- Academic achievement with a GPA of 2.5 on 4.0 scale
- Students should be pursuing a medical related field, preference should be given to students pursuing a career in the nursing field

Available to students who attend St. Bartholomew Church in Newaygo, MI.
- Active registered member of St. Bartholomew’s Church in Newaygo, Michigan for three or more consecutive years
- Must have received the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation
- Must have participated in Religious Education Classes and Youth Ministry through the 12th grade (must have a 75% attendance rate at these activities per year)
- Must enroll full time (12 credit hours or more) at an accredited post high school educational institution
- Must have a grade point average of C or greater
- Scholarship is available for undergraduate study
Awarded to a Newaygo and/or Oceana County resident or a student graduating from a Newaygo and/or Oceana County high school
- Applicants must have a financial need
One, non-renewable award to a Newaygo County graduating high school senior in the Newaygo County Post area (Newaygo County) who is interested in pursuing an education and career in law enforcement.

- Preference to underrepresented applicants (i.e.: those of ethnic, racial minority, and/or disability)
- Preference to applicants with a G.P.A of 2.5 or above
- Preference to applicants with financial need
- Preference to applicants not eligible for Newaygo County Area Promise Zone funds
- Preference to applicants with good attendance record and citizenship
One, non-renewable award to a graduating high school senior from Holton High School.
- Preference to students pursuing a technical or industrial arts career
- Student shows an aptitude to succeed while not necessarily being the top student in the class
Two, non-renewable awards to graduating high school seniors from White Cloud High School.

- Has a minimum GPA of 2.0
- Candidates should exemplify community service
Two, two-year renewable scholarships to graduating high school seniors from a Newaygo County high school.
- Must rank in top 20% of class
- Involvement in extracurricular activities and/or volunteer work
One, two-year renewable award to a graduating high school senior of Fremont High School with preference given to applicants attending Alma College or the University of Michigan.

One, renewable scholarship for up to four-years awarded to a graduating Newaygo County high school senior; preference to those pursuing an agricultural or conservation career or work in public administration.
