Annual report highlight: Cultivating community good

Jack and Rosemary Tittle

Jack and Rosemary Tittle know what it’s like to go through hard times. “We were both born during the Depression,” said Jack. “I remember what it was like to be the last kid in the neighborhood to have a bicycle.”

“Well, I never got the bike,” quipped Rosemary.

Both Jack and Rosemary are grateful to those who gave them encouragement and a hand up. That’s why the Tittles established a field of interest fund at the Community Foundation. This fund focuses on their two passions: assisting individuals in poverty and supporting the arts.

For the Tittles, giving to the Community Foundation is a way to keep money in the local community and to cultivate good in Newaygo County.

“This is just one way we can repay the community for all it’s done for us,” said Rosemary. “We hope this money will help people who need it and develop their ability to grow.”
