One, non-renewable scholarship awarded to a graduating senior that successfully completed at least one year at Mecosta-Osceola Career Center 

  • Applicants shall have successfully completed at least one year at Mecosta-Osceola Career Center in one of the following programs: construction trades, welding and fabrication, or innovative engineering 
  • Applicants shall be pursuing a career in the professional/skilled trades 
  • Applicants shall be pursuing post-secondary training (including apprenticeships) in the professional/skilled trades; or has obtained employment in the professional/skilled trades 

One, non-renewable scholarship to a Big Rapids High School graduating senior

  • Preference will be given to students who are interested in pursuing studies in education, humanities (e.g. philosophy, literature, religion, art, music, history or language), performing arts or veterinary science
  • Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need, but not limited to students with financial need

Scholarship to a Big Rapids High School graduating senior

  • Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need
  • One or more scholarships will be awarded to individuals who are well-rounded students (e.g., have demonstrated persistence in academics; teamwork in co-curricular or extra-curricular activities; and/or have served others by participating in community or volunteer activities)

One, non-renewable scholarship awarded to graduating seniors of Big Rapids Public Schools

  • Preference for applicants attending Ferris State University
  • Preference for applicants with perfect attendance

 

One, non-renewable scholarship awarded to graduates of Big Rapids High School

  • Preference will be given to students who are interested in pursuing studies in education, with a focus in early elementary educations, reading, speech therapy, or special education
  • Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need, but not limited to students with financial need
  • Preference will be given to students who have regularly served others by participating in school, community, or volunteer activities

One, non-renewable scholarship to a graduate of a Mecosta County high school

  • Applicants need to have a GPA of 2.60
  • Preference given to students attending a university or four-year college in the state of Michigan
  • Preference given to students who demonstrate financial need
  • Preference given to applicants pursuing studies in the following fields: education (K 12), business, or healthcare (excluding laboratory technicians)
  • Applicants need to have realistic career goals and plan to achieve them

One, non-renewable scholarship to a Mecosta County student

  • Applicants need to be a graduate of a Mecosta County high school
  • Applicants can be a traditional or non-traditional student
  • Preference for financial need

One, non-renewable scholarship to a graduating senior, a currently enrolled college student, or a continuing education student who has graduated from a Mecosta County high school and plans to attend Ferris State University

  • Pursue a career in education
  • Intend to teach in the Mecosta County area after graduation
  • Have realistic career goals and a plan to achieve them
  • Demonstrated academic achievement and experience in chosen/related field with GPA meeting the standards set by the program the student desires to pursue
  • Potential for future success

Four, non-renewable scholarships to graduating high school seniors or college students accepted at an accredited college in a health-related field of undergraduate or graduate study

  • Graduates of a Mecosta County high school
  • Academic achievement
  • Realistic goals for a career in the health field as well as a plan for achieving these goals

Financial need when that can be determined

One, non-renewable scholarship to a Mecosta County High School graduating student

  • Minimum 2.5 GPA on 4.0 scale
  • Demonstrates civic leadership
  • Preference to applicants pursuing electrical engineering
  • Preference to applicants attending Michigan Technological University

One, non-renewable scholarship to a high school senior attending the Mecosta-Osceola Career Center (MOCC)

  • Must have attended the MOCC for at least one year
  • Students must complete appropriate application and the following will be considered in selection: MOCC grades, attendance record, school/community service, extracurricular activities, leadership roles, summer/part-time employment, work ethic endorsement, self-inventory summary

One, non-renewable scholarship to a Mecosta County high school senior or a high school senior residing in Mecosta County

One, non-renewable scholarship to a student attending Ferris State University

  • The scholarship will be awarded to a FSU College of Technology or Horticulture student
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75
  • Financial information is required, but will not be the final determinant in awarding a scholarship

One, non-renewable scholarship to a Big Rapids High School graduating senior

  • Realistic career goals and a plan to achieve those goals
  • Participation in community/volunteer service
  • Consideration will be given to those planning to enter pre-med for a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree
  • Preference to students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Preference to students attending Aquinas College

One, non-renewable scholarship to a Big Rapids High School graduating senior

  • Realistic career goals and a plan to achieve those goals
  • Participation in community/volunteer service
  • Preference to students planning on entering a teaching field
  • Preference to students attending Aquinas College

One, non-renewable scholarship to a graduating senior from Big Rapids High School

  • Preference to students who are not eligible for other scholarship awards
  • Participation in Equestrian Club (or cheerleader, if no Equestrian Club)
  • Participation in community and volunteer service, particularly scouting
  • Rank among the top 30 percent of his/her class
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities
  • Financial need

One, renewable scholarship to a graduating senior from Mecosta, Newaygo, or Osceola County who has been a member of Boy Scout Troop 114

  • Active member of Troop 114 for at least the past three years (active meaning participating in at least 30 percent of weekly meetings, campouts, and special events)
  • Earned rank of Eagle Scout prior to application date
  • Preference shall be given to most active applicant from the Troop
  • Preference shall be given to applicants who have held Scout leadership positions
