Donor intends the A.J. and Carolyn McKinley Scholarship to be awarded to a graduating senior from Grant High School.

  • Preference to applicants pursuing a career in the medical field
  • Applicants pursuing a career as a paramedic will be given special consideration

One, four-year renewable scholarship awarded to a graduating senior from Grant High School

  • Preference to applicants with a GPA below 3.9
  • Preference to applicants attending a Michigan college, university, community college, technical or trade school, either private or public
  • Financial need is not a criterion

Two, four-year renewable awards to graduating seniors from Grant High School.

  • Demonstrated academic achievement by maintaining a high school GPA of 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale and maintaining a college GPA of 2.5 based on a 4.0 scale for renewal.
  • Participation in a school fine arts program such as art, drama, band or choir
  • Use of fine arts skill in extra-curricular activities
  • Highly motivated individual with drive to succeed
  • An ability to relate well to others
  • A constructive attitude
  • Demonstrated high moral character
  • Reviewed by the Kenneth and Pauline Bull Family Scholarship Committee
  • Awarded to a graduate from Grant Public High School
  • Preference for 3.0 GPA
  • Preference for student not in the top 5% of graduating class
  • Preference for student attending public college or university
  • Awarded to a graduating senior from Newaygo and/or Grant Public High School(s)
  • Preference to underrepresented applicants (i.e.: those of ethnic, racial minority, and/or disability)
  • Preference to applicants with a G.P.A of 2.5 or above
  • Preference to applicants with financial need
  • Preference to applicants not eligible for Newaygo County Area Promise Zone funds
  • Preference to applicants with good attendance record and citizenship
  • Awarded to a graduating senior from Grant Public High School
  • Preference to applicants that have participated in the arts

  • Preference is given to students pursuing an agricultural career
  • Preference is given to students pursuing a four-year college degree
  • Preference is given to students not receiving other scholarship awards
  • Participation in school and/or community activities

Three, non-renewable scholarships to graduating high school seniors from Grant High School.

  • Demonstrate academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 2.5 based on 4.0 scale
  • Leadership qualities
  • Involvement in community, school, and extracurricular activities
  • Preference given to applicants who have been involved in student government and members of the Foundation’s YAC

One, four-year renewable award to a graduating high school senior from Grant High School.

  • Preference given to children of Grant Public Schools staff
  • Academic achievement by maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Leadership skills
  • Involvement in school and community activities
  • Must attend an accredited Michigan two- or four-year college

One, two-year renewable award to a graduating high school senior from Grant High School.

  • Involvement in the field of agriculture
  • Involvement in school and/or community activities

Two, four-year renewable awards to graduating high school seniors from Grant High School.

  • Proven academic success, having achieved a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Financial need, particularly if student may not otherwise be able to afford to attend college
