Congratulations! You received a Community Foundation scholarship. What happens next?
How a scholarship is paid
All scholarships are paid directly to your college, university, or technical/trade school. Before a scholarship can be paid, you must:
- Complete an award form. You will receive an email (to the email address you used when applying for scholarships) with a link to the award form.
- Write a thank you note for each scholarship received. Address the thank you note to the donor who made the scholarship possible. Send it to Fremont Area Community Foundation and we will forward it to the donor.
Renewable scholarships
Students awarded renewable scholarships will receive an email (to the email address you used when applying for scholarships) with a link to a renewal form each summer. It will list any documentation you are required to submit before the next scholarship payment can be made. This form must be completed and returned with required documentation by July 31.
Changing schools
While most scholarships can be used at any accredited college, university, certification program, or career training program, some are limited to certain schools. If you change schools, contact us to determine if you are still eligible for your scholarship. If so, we will transfer any remaining scholarship funds to your new school.
