Poverty to Prosperity

We strive to reduce poverty and revitalize our community.

Thousands of Newaygo County residents have difficulty meeting basic needs such as housing, food, and healthcare. Our rural environment increases the vulnerability of those caught in the cycle of poverty. We seek to shift poverty to prosperity through revitalized community values and connections.

Our goal: To reduce poverty in Newaygo County below the national average over the next 10 years.

To help residents escape the cycle of poverty, we invest in programs and organizations that empower residents to:

  • Develop pathways to increase self-sufficiency
  • Help individuals build personal assets
  • Increase individuals’ social capital
