Community & Economic Development

We are your advocate for a growing and sustainable local economy.

A community is only as good as the people, nonprofits, businesses, educational institutions, local government agencies, and natural resources that make it up. Fremont Area Community Foundation is committed to addressing the high rate of unemployment and underemployment in our community—all in the name of promoting a growing and sustainable local economy.

Our goal: To reduce unemployment in Newaygo County below the national average over the next 10 years while preserving our rural character.

To positively impact community and economic development in our community, we focus on:

  • Small business development
  • Entrepreneurship development
  • Workforce development
  • Capacity of local community and economic development partners
  • Natural resources promotion and utilization
